An experimental performance merges live-coding with bio-mechanical interaction and attempts to integrate the performer's physical body directly into an audio feedback loop. Utilising electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) devices attached to the artist's limbs, the piece blurs the boundary between the performer and the instrument. It unfolds in two distinct phases, starting with a live-coding section, where the underlying software architecture was programmed in real time. In the second half of the piece, the computer programme was developed to establish a semi-controlled, closed-loop system. The computer translates audio data into electrical impulses that physically manipulate the performer's body, while the performer's resulting involuntary movements feed back into the system to modulate the sound. This dynamic human-to-computer and computer-to-human interaction transforms the live coder from an active programmer into a physical component of the performance composition, exploring new dimensions of embodied sound performance.
